Customer Issue

Originally specified in virgin, 40% long glass fiber polypropylene material the molded substrates off production tooling failed the cross-load strength requirement during product validation.

AGS Injection Molding Solution

By cross polymer substituting the virgin 40% long glass fiber polypropylene with an inherently higher performance recycled, 33% glass reinforced PA66 the substrates exceeded product validation requirements without incurring a cost penalty. No changes to the production tooling were necessary given similar shrink values. The Injectoblend™ FPA66235 material was assigned an ASTM D4000 callout by FCA Engineering and merited an SPE Innovation Award in the Environmental category.
